The following is from a post by our good friend Antia Martin. The last paragraph is her response to my asking her permission to share with you all. Her husband Elwood is in the US an cannot return because the airport is closed.

I have spent the day praising God for safety & the prompting of the Holy Spirit! As many of you have heard & seen, Haiti erupted in violence yesterday (Friday) as the government announced a very major fuel hike. We had went to Port Wednesday, as Elwood was flying to the States for a family reunion. I also had a medical patient to pick up from a hospital. I do not like to travel alone in Port so I took a local friend from Puits Salè along & he also can help drive for me. We spent Thursday buying a lot of supplies . It was a really good day traffic wise & we got so much accomplished. Friday I was picking up our mail, then taking a package to some friends, plus going up to Petionville to pick up some furniture I had bought from someone that was leaving Haiti. Friday morning that person sent me a message that they where not leaving next week as planned & furniture would not be available till August. And for some reason I did not have peace about taking the package to my friend. I decided I am just getting the mail & heading for home. When I got the mail, my package was in customs. So confirmed my feelings. And we left Port. Soon after we arrived home I started getting calls & messages asking if I am okay. So very THANKFUL to be home. And I am PRAYING constantly for those caught in all this violence. I would ask you my friends to join me in my prayers for HAITI….

And her response to my request to share:

Yes, you may copy & paste. How do you explain the working of the Holy Spirit? I just knew I had to leave Port no matter what! And all the circumstances worked in that way. So you listen….

Praying that you & your friends are safe. May peace & an end to violence in Haiti occur very soon.
